Ordering
Yes — completely free. There is no cost for the kit or shipping. The Kit for New Parents is provided
by First 5 California, a state-funded program supporting children from birth through age five.
Kits are available to California residents only. We cannot ship to addresses outside California
or to P.O. boxes. Both expectant parents and parents of young children are welcome to order.
Individual requests are limited to one kit per family. If you represent an organization such as
a hospital, clinic, or community group, you may request kits in bulk — please contact us at
parentkit@first5.ca.gov (opens mail application) for bulk ordering instructions.
Yes — just enter the recipient's California mailing address on the order form.
Make sure the address is not a P.O. box and is within California.
Delivery
Kits are shipped via USPS. Delivery times may vary depending on your location within California.
No — kits cannot be delivered to P.O. boxes. Please provide a physical California street address
when placing your order.
You will receive a confirmation to the email address you provided when your order is submitted.
If you have not received a confirmation after a few minutes, please check your spam folder or
contact us at parentkit@first5.ca.gov (opens mail application).

- What To Do When Your Child Gets Sick
- Additional books, guides, and parenting tools
Kits are currently available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese.
